Some Of The Best Stuff
Everyone knows that either beef or poultry is a must have on any grill. Yet those who truly master the very art of grilling understands that you can have an effective grill session without adding seafood to the meal . Not only does seafood give a healthier option to those who cannot have too much of meat but they also taste really good if you know how to prepare them the right way. With the many pleasant things you can turn seafood into by the use of your grill; it is no wonder why it is getting more popular by the moment.
Considering that, you might want to try having seafood the next time you and your family go grilling. So to educate you with what seafood would be great on the grill as well as what are some good things to do with them, here are some tips that would describe in detail the ideal way of cooking and having it.
Grilling Fish
When it comes to grilling seafood, fish should always be at the top of the list. With some nice fishes and a grill alone, you would able to produce so much delectable dishes with only that. In grilling fish, you would first have to classify fish into firm and tender, whole and fillet and use different grilling approaches when it comes to the fish depending on how you would classify them. Be aware that aside from direct grilling, you could also roast, sear and do a lot more with fishes on the grill.
For firm fish such as tuna and swordfish, the best way of having them is to grill them right on top of the fire since other types could easily crumble and fall right inside the grill. Make sure that the fire is not too strong as not to burn the fish but just right as to make the fish juicy and tender right after being grilled. Another way to cook fish is to have them smoked with the use of seasoned wood chips. The smoke made by these chips would infuse the fish with a different but really pleasant flavor.
Crustaceans
We all have tried crabs, lobsters and shrimps most likely boiled but most of us most likely have not tried having them cooked on top of the grill. When it comes to preparing these, you should be aware that one of the best ways of having them is to have them grilled. Grilling them gives a much different but very delicious flavor as compared to other ways of preparing crustaceans.
Grilling crustaceans is quite easy; some would even consider it easier to grill than fish. The firm meat keeps it whole all throughout the grilling process and unlike fish, crustaceans do not crumble or crack at the surface and fall into the grill. Since it is so, it is even a good item in the grill for beginners to start with.
Other Good Seafood
Other seafood such as squid, octopus and different shells are also great on the grill. However, you have to be careful in grilling squid and octopus since having them slightly overcooked would make them very chewy, tough and flavorless. But if you cook them right, it would be the exact opposite and would taste absolutely great.
Grilled seafood would also go well with other favorite items on the grill such as vegetables, poultry and beef. With grilled seafood, your days with your family on the grill are sure to be much better.

4 Tips To Stay Safe When Grilling Outdoors
The Importance Of Safety
Safety is always a must when grilling outdoors. It's not always common but a lot of serious injuries, deaths, structure fires and even outdoor fires have been caused just because some people are not aware or are concerned about outdoor grilling safety, these of which are quite very basic and are very easy to follow. Considering what disasters grilling could cause, we must be more aware of safety tips when it comes to grilling outdoors.
You must first be aware that grilling involves the use of a lot of fire and you should know what fire can do. You should also be aware of the safety guidelines for your grill which is most likely already provided in the manual, make sure to read it even before using it. Being safe with the grill will not only help prevent injuries but would also make grilling more enjoyable for you and the whole family.
The Grilling Area
The outdoor grilling area should be designated for the barbecue alone and not anything else. Make sure you set aside a safe place for it, that it should be away from everything that could catch fire easily such as the house itself, paper materials, laundry, herbs, bushes and shrubs. Also make sure that the kids and the pets stay away from the grill until it has cooled off completely. Make the grilling area a no play zone especially when you are grilling.
Also make sure that the grill is away from all outlets or wires as these can react in a violent manner when exposed to extreme heat. Remember it is an outdoor grill and it should only be used outdoors and never indoors. Aside from the smoke being inside your house and polluting everything inside, having it indoors would also impose a lot of potential dangers of which you would of course want to avoid. Following outdoor grilling safety requisites are very important so make sure to take them seriously.
The Grill Itself
Every time you start a grill, you always have to check it for things that might cause accidents. Before starting a fire, make sure that there are no leaks in the gas tank if you are using a gas-powered grill. You can check this by just looking at it, do not ever try to test leaks by the use of a match as this can ignite the whole thing and could make the tank explode. Make sure that you only start the fire if you have checked the grill thoroughly.
Also make sure the grill is standing stable. Check the legs and make sure that they are not too shaky and are standing firmly on the ground. Having the grill toppling over while the fire is one can cause a lot of serious cases so you have to make sure that you follow this guideline carefully. Also double check for items that could catch fire near the grill and make sure that the area is completely safe. Only start grilling if everything seems safe.
Other Safety Guidelines
For outdoor grilling safety, you must not leave the grill turned on at all times. Make sure that you are focused on grilling and not do anything else when doing so. Also make sure that you have a fire extinguisher and a first aid kid always ready. You will never know what happens so you have to be ready just in case something happens.
The grill is a fun and a good opportunity for you to share with your family so you should always make sure that everything is safe when you are grilling outdoors.

Grilling Outdoors : What To Have
Nothing Says Outdoor Grilling Without the meat
What would outdoor grilling be without some nice cuts of prime rib, baby back ribs or other nice cuts of meat that everyone would enjoy when out on a grill. This is because meat has become the norm when it comes to outdoor grilling and it is no doubt that when it comes to grilling, if you dont have the any meat on the grill well your treating yourself your just cheating yourself (in my opinion ) .
There are many ways of having meat in a grill with the most common having them directly grilled on top of a fire. If this is done right, then the meat will be juicy and tender. Other ways of cooking meat would involve roasting which is commonly done for ribs and smoking of which involves having chips of seasoned wood burnt to have the pleasant aroma and flavor infused into the meat.
Some Poultry
Although poultry has been considered the hardest to cook especially when your cooking chicken or turkey . It's still one of the favorite and must have items on the grill. Grilling poultry does not only make it taste much better but is also considered by many as a healthier way of having it. Grilled lean cuts of turkey, duck and chicken have always been safe for those who are calorie-conscious and as well as anyone else who loves grilled food.
The key to having good poultry on the meat is to ensure that they are cooked tenderly with the entire flavor sealed inside and having it cooked well at the same time. Poultry, unlike meat should be cooked well and not show any traces of blood however, it is quite difficult to have it this way since most of the time, the outside would show that the meat is cooked well but when you look inside, there are still traces of blood. To avoid this, prick one side of the chicken and take note of the juices that would come out. With this, you should be able to tell if it is cooked well.
Lots Of Seafood
For those who could not have too much meat even on the grill can have a much better option, and that is what we call seafood. Seafood does not have too much of those unwanted substances you can find in meat but at the same time, you will still enjoy your time at the grill with the many flavors it has. Some favorite seafood are fish, squid, shellfish and crustaceans.
The best way to serve seafood is to put it together with other seafood entrees . Think about having grilled salmon, smoked oysters and grilled soft shell crabs. They go well with each other as well as other items such as vegetables and other meats like chicken and beef . No matter how you put it together just make sure that you don't overcook the seafood, otherwise it would be tasteless and tough. Cooking it right however would make it an instant favorite for everyone who would be having it.
Grilled Vegetables
Most of us might not be aware of it but some vegetables are really nice when grilled. The best thing about it is that they are really easy to cook and taste really good with the flavor that the grill gives them.
To add a twist to all the other items we usually have when grilling outdoors, it would be nice to have some fresh peppers, zucchinis, eggplant and asparagus that are marinated in vinegar, oil and spices and grilled to perfection. Vegetables are very easy to grill, and go well with virtually every other item on the grill.

Outdoor Grilling Ideas: A Few Tips For The Best Results
Stop the press because your grill is not limited to just outdoor grilling. Most people just go outside set up some charcoal, drench it with lighter fluid , and throw a match ( now thats a fire !!!! ) . While the classic method of direct grilling can already please most of us,just think there are so many other outdoor grill ideas that one could use to enjoy the heavenly taste of barbecue .These techniques include ,searing, indirect grilling and smoking which turns ordinary meat into a tasting pleasure with a distinct flavor.
Each of these techniques you can use depending on what types of items you are to grill, for example; direct grilling is best for large cuts of beef and sausages, smoking, which is one of my favorites is best for whole fish and meats too. With experience, you will later develop a taste of what goes where in the grill enabling you to be an expert on it.
First Things First
Even before starting out, you have to be sure that your grill is clean. There's nothing worst then having a beautiful, juicy, succulent peice of prime rib grilled to perfection . Only to have it taste like grilled salmon (oh!! the horror !!!) . In cleaning the grill, make sure that you do it right after cooking and while the grill is still hot. In doing this, use a wire brush and scrub off all remaining residue that is left on the grill. This is the main cause of the unpleasant flavoring if you don’t clean your grill well.
More to that, these residues can also fall into the grill and can later cause a flare-up, this of which we would like to avoid. While your grill is clean, you would also want to prevent residue from sticking to it as much as possible. To do this, spray the surface of your grill with vegetable oil every time before you grill. This is even more important if you are using sugar based sauces like the common ones people use to coat ribs and barbecue.
Get Your Grill Hot
I can not express to you how very important it is to have your grill hot before any item is placed on the grill. For most of us especially for those who own gas-powered grills, we put the items in right after we start the fire. Even though everyone is wondering when will the hotdogs and hamburgers will be ready please wait around 15-30 minutes of having the fire turned on before placing any items to be grilled in while having all the items and cooking tools you will be needing standing by.
Also be mindful that the surface of your grill is not equally hot on all sides. There are some sides that are hotter than others and some that are a bit cooler than others. Being good on the grill, you should know where these sides are and use them to your advantage. This is where the technique of indirect grilling comes into mind being that you would need to find out where the cooler side is.
Having Ingredients Ready
Even before you start grilling; it is very important that your ingredients are already prepared and ready to be tossed on top of the grill. For steaks, you might want to cut of excess fat and have it seasoned with some salt and pepper. As for chicken, since it is quite difficult to have it grilled, you can pre-cook it in the microwave oven. This will lessen cooking time and as well as make it easier for you to have your chicken brown.
Vegetables on the other hand should already be cleaned and cut for the grill. After all these, you are ready to get grilling.
Each of these techniques you can use depending on what types of items you are to grill, for example; direct grilling is best for large cuts of beef and sausages, smoking, which is one of my favorites is best for whole fish and meats too.
